Language School of Houston: Be Bilingual Students and Teachers Featured in FOX 26 News Story

For Immediate Release- July 15, 2008

HOUSTON – The students and teachers of leading language school of Houston, Be Bilingual, were featured in a recent FOX 26 news story emphasizing the invaluable tool that speaking multiple languages is in today’s international society.
In a controversial town hall meeting held in Georgia, presidential candidate Barack Obama emphasized that Americans should ensure that their children learn to speak Spanish.  He further underscored that the average European knows more languages than that of the average American.

“We agree with Senator Obama,” said Be Bilingual Director Elizabeth Thrush.

“There are over 400 million Spanish speakers in the world, making Spanish the fourth most commonly spoken language.  To be able to effectively compete in a global enterprise, it has become necessary to speak multiple languages,” added Thrush.

Thrush went on to say that many of their adult students learning Spanish now wish they had approached it at an earlier age - when languages would have been much easier to learn.

“There would be an opportunity to reach out to much more of the community If I knew how to speak Spanish, because there are so many people that do,” stated Be Bilingual student Paul Tichey, one of many new students since the presidential hopeful’s speech.

Instructors Gaby Cabrera and Carolina Llamozas are featured in the Fox 26 story, both of whom have extensive experience in teaching English and Spanish as a second language.

Be Bilingual has provided foreign language classes and private foreign language instruction to individuals and corporations for over 20 years.  All of the instructors are native speakers who must pass a rigorous grammar exam before qualifying for training in the Be Bilingual exclusive method.

Be Bilingual offers classes, lessons, and instruction in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, German, Chinese, and Arabic - recently noticing an increasing demand for Arabic and Portuguese as well and adding services in the Woodlands area to accommodate the overall growing demand.

Accent reduction classes for foreign-born English speakers, who wish to refine their English skills, are also offered.

I really enjoyed the group Spanish lessons. It was a great way to learn a new language and interact with other people. It gave us the opportunity to learn as we helped each other out as well!

The book was easy to follow and good for individuals or groups. The instructor was great and made the class fun! I looked forward to my classes each week! It is a very professional organization and I highly recommend the (Corporate) group lessons!
