Be Bilingual: Meet Our Instructors

Sandra Lau : though she was born in Trujillo, the third largest city in Peru, Sandra Lau grew up in the beautiful beachtown of Pacasmayo. From an early age Sandra knew that she wanted to teach, and has done so in Peru, Italy and Houston. With a degree in education, Sandra speaks Spanish and Italian, while consistently improving in English everyday. Sandra enjoys teaching students of all ages. Seeing her students learn remains the motivation for all of her lessons.
Norene Herring: Norene has taught English and Accent Reduction for 13 years both in Germany and the U.S. She teaches all levels of both general and business English. Her objective is to motivate students to learn and gain confidence in English.
Muriel Barriol: A native of France, Muriel Barriol has more than 10 years experience tutoring all levels of the French language. She especially enjoys the one-on-one interaction with her students, and helping them gain confidence in speaking as well as mastering the French language.
Gaby Cabrera: Gaby began teaching English in 1994 at a language school in Mexico City. She followed that experience with another position teaching English at Universidad Autonoma de Mexico, focusing mainly on reading comprehension. She then taught in the language department at Instituto Politecnico Nacional. After relocating to the United States, she became a volunteer ESL teacher until Be Bilingual realized her potential. She began teach with Be Bilingual in 2004.
Carolina Llamozas: Venezuelan native, Carolina Llamozas is a graduate of the Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, where she majored in Modern Languages. Prior to relocating to Houston and teaching for Be Bilingual, Carolina taught English and Spanish as a second language in Venezuela and in Washington DC. She enjoys teaching others to communicate in a foreign language and especially loves making the language learning experience fun, interesting and challenging.
Elaine Tertic: Elaine, a native of Brazil, has been working in some form of Portuguese for 25 years, including teaching and writing, or reviewing professional business texts. Elaine’s teaching objective is to identify the needs of the student and address these in a pleasant, easy and efficient manner.
Gloria Ginyovszky: Before joining Be Bilingual, Gloria Ginyovszky taught English as a Second Language for seven at a private school in her native country of Venezuela. Upon relocating to the U.S. Gloria began teaching all levels of Spanish, and has continued to do so for the last eight years. Gloria’s objective is to motivate her students to feel comfortable understanding and speaking Spanish.
Piedade Alvarado: Joining Be Belingual from Niteroi City in Rio de Janeiro Piedade Alvarado has been teaching Portuguese to adults for over 14 years. To obtain the best teaching results with each student, Piedade adjusts to the each student’s unique learning style, pace and comfort level. As a result Piedade’s lessons are successful, enjoyable and stress free.
