Although the Chinese dialects vary regionally, the Chinese share a common written language. Recognized as the oldest written language in the world, we subdivide it into three forms: simplified, traditional, and informal slang.

Traditional Chinese characters are taught and used by the Chinese in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, and many other places. Several textbooks, newspapers, and even subtitles for movies are written in traditional Chinese.

Informal slang characters are used in addition to traditional Chinese characters in an informal setting, such as comics or the entertainment sections of newspapers and magazines.

In an attempt to make the Chinese language more understandable to the western world, China developed the "pinyin" (pin-yin) system which utilizes the western alphabet and spelling to pronounce Chinese words.

Be Bilingual has successfully taught language skills to students for almost 20 years. In addition, our instructors are incredibly skilled college graduates and native speakers.

Be Bilingual’s courses cater to individuals, as well as those in the corporate setting. Each session runs at least 90-minutes in length. Students may schedule as often as they wish, though we recommend at least two 90-minute sessions per week to maximize retention.
